If you’ve never tasted wild boar, then Rye is the right place to start. Wild boar roam free in the woods outside the town, so this is undoubtedly free range at its best! During Wild Boar Week, the town‘s restaurants’ imagination works overtime and dishes include pressed belly, black pudding, steaks, sausages, stews and cured charcuterie, to name but a few. Vegetarians can join in the quiz nights, parties and live music events and there’s even a wild boar trail to follow for the mini hunters in the family.
