There is a long tradition of celebrating Royal Jubilees, Weddings and Coronations with the lighting of beacons. As part of The Platinum Jubilee Beacons event across the UK on 2 June the Hastings beacon on the East Hill will be lit at 9.45pm.
Other becaons will across 1066 Country will also be participating.
