A change to visit the newly refurbished Hastings Library The Brassey Institute and see some of Lady Brassey dairies and photo albums
lady Brassey was notable Victorian who travel the world with her Husband. The Brasseys on their steam yacht the Sunbeam travelled all over the world on three major voyages taking in Hawaii, Azores, Singapore, Japan, Borneo, Hong Kong and Australia. Lady Brassey died on board the Sunbeam on the 14th September 1887 of malaria just of the off Port Darwin. though out the voyages she kept dairies of where she had been and what she had seen. you will be able to read extracts from the diaries see photos and be hands on with history.
