Wealden Food & Wine Festival

The Wealden Food Festival is taking place against the historic Pevensey Castle, courtesy of English Heritage during the weekend of 16 and 17 July.

Saturday and Sunday

Throughout the day – Guided walking tours around the castle

Pevensey Village Partnership’s Heritage Trail takes you around the castle, hear about the history and secrets of the area.  These walks are extremely popular and you need to book at the Pevensey Village Partnership stall to avoid disappointment.  The guided walk takes about 55 minutes and costs £2.50 (all ticket money goes to village projects).  12pm, 2pm & 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.

The 1066 Challenge

Outside the castle walls there will be a display with a difference. The 1066 Challenge invites everyone to bring along a 1066 scarecrow to celebrate the 950th anniversary of The Battle of Hastings.

Saturday 16 July

Sussex Mule cooking demo - Rob Silverstone the ‘old Mule’ will be talking about his book and also serving up some Sussex inspired dishes over the weekend at the festival.

Peter Bayliss cooking demo -  BBC MasterChef 2006 Independent Chef, food writer, teacher and demonstrator will be cooking up some delicious meals at the festival.

Bluebell Vineyard wine demo

Live music from Swamp Town; Pete Prescott's Swingtime; The Violet Jive and Cocktail Safari.
