Christmas in Rye

Tales of Old

On 10 December the town of Rye will be filled with the sights, sounds and smell of Christmas.

The festival this year is based on the theme of 'Tales of Old' and inspiration from Hans Christian Anderson and Brothers Grimm will be throughout the town from street performers, artists, storytelling, procession, grottos, markets, music, fairground rides and more.

Father Christmas Arrival - 10am

Rye Town Hall.  Father Christmas will walk down Lion Street and back up to Castle Museum where he make ready to greet children at his grotto.

Performance Stage - 11am-4pm

At the Cattle Market - many performers throughout the day - song, dance, poetry, musicians and more!

Christmas Market - 11am-5pm

At the Strand Quay

Fair Rides - 11am-5pm

Cinque Ports Street car park

Christmas Tree Competition - 11am-5pm

Rye Baptist Church - choose your favourite

High Street Races - 2.15pm-3pm

Cheer on the Christmas Pudding Race and the Santa Relay!

Ed Boxall Storytelling

Various times throughout the day at the Rye Library.

Christmas Procession - 4.30pm

Station Approach.  Follow Father Christmas and his reindeer, elves, fairy tale characters and more in this magical procession - why not join in!
