Battle's Big Weekend

Battle’s Big Weekend takes place over the weekend of June 23 and 24 at Battle's Recreation Ground. The weekend consists of something for all the family and is a becoming a major part of Battle’s event calendar.

Family Disco from 6.30pm at Battle Recreation Ground

Friday family night returns, this time with a double bang of top rate entertainment for the kids!  Onesite parking and free entry!

The children can play some games, lose energy and have a fantastic night whilst the parents can sit back with a nice glass of wine or a pint (or soft drink of course) knowing the kids are entertained.

This year Awesome Alfie from Rascals Parties will be providing endless entertainment in the form of Rascals disco inc a wealth of party games and prizes!

The Annual Battle Carnival - 23 June - 11am - Battle High Street

A wonderful display of entertainment, music, fancy dress and dance from local groups, organisations and businesses in the carnival.  The carnival is an ideal opportunity to injet some fun, music and cheer to the summer activities in the town and marks the opening of the famous summer fayre.

Route: From the Recreation Ground the procession will move down High Street, turn at the Abbey Green and return to the Recreation Ground

A rolling Road Closure will be in place between 11am and 11.20am, then again at 11.30am to 11.50am - delays are to be expected.

Battle's Summer Fayre - 23 June - 11am-4pm  

Battle’s Summer Fayre brings together the traditional fun stalls (like coconut shy and tombolas); modern attractions such as bouncy castles and rides; displays from the various emergency services; dance groups; live singers; face painting and a tasty BBQ and bar!

An added attraction is the craft fayre in the marquee so there really is something for all the family.

Its FREE to come and visit (although bring some money to take part in some activities).

Dog Show - 23 June - 12noon-4pm

Registration from 11am - Judging from 12.30pm

Entry Fee - £1.50 per class

If you win a class please remember to come back for the Best in Show class at the end of the day.
Rosettes and prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

Live Music - 23 June - from 6.30pm - Battle Recreation Ground

A huge night of music will take place under the cover of the large marquee.

A great live music line up - tickets are now available

Headline act is Sister Suzie.  Sister Suzie hails from Northumberland and it was her love of singing R&B that first took her to New Orleans, and then across the UK to Hastings, where she has made her home the last few years.  She asked guitarist Matt Jackson and drummer Brian Nevill to help form her first band, soon after bassist Darren 'Eddie' Edwards was recruited to form the core of the group.  It was in July 2017 just after their first trip to Europe, that Suzie and the band released their first single 'I need a man' on her own label.  Currently working on their first album which will be released this year.

Car Boot Sale - 24 June - Battle Recreation Ground (TN33 0HB) from 10am (booters from 9am)

Battel Bonfire Boyes hold a car boot sale on the Recreation Ground on the last Sunday of each month, that means this year the boot sale will be included as part of the Big Weekend celebrations. No pre-booking is required, just turn up on the day as a booter or a buyer.
