September 2018

During September Visit 1066 Country has 3 major festivals:

Coastal Currents - running from 1 to 30 September

The annual culture fest, Coastal Currents is upon us again.  The time when strange things can turn up in Hastings - even stranger than normal - animation on the streets, puzzle onlookers, that make us laugh, scratch our heads and visit places we don't normally visit.

This year it celebrates a more ambitious programme with an international stamp attracting more artists, which further underlines Hastings as a creative centre.

Hastings Seafood & Wine Festival - 15 and 16 September

This is a hugely popular event, showcasing the excellent quality and variety of Hastings fish and this year we are celebrating the town’s fishing heritage with the launch of the Hastings Fish brand.

Enjoy delicious fish dishes from local restaurants and wines from local vineyards, along with a range of the best produce the area has to offer. A variety of dishes will also be available, complemented by fantastic locally made beers and ciders. As well as food, there will be live music and entertainment in the music tent; cooking demos from Billingsgate Seafood Training School and top local chefs in the Classroom on the Coast.  Fishermen will be demonstrating their skills and catch, and craft and fish related activities for the whole family to enjoy.

As part of the promotion of the Hastings Fish brand, vouchers will be available from the Tourist Information stall if you want to get hold of a brand new Hastings Fish cool bag – redeemable when you buy some Hastings Fish from one of the local retailers.

International Composers Festival from 21 September

Performing some of the most exciting, melodic and appealing orchestral music written today, including big orchestral scores, film, computer gaming, television themes, dance, and chamber music, all in six concerts over three unforgettable days, in Hastings and Bexhill.  See below:
