Fat Tuesday Festival
Hastings Fat Tuesday is all about appreciating the local music scene, having a good time and raising some money for local charities.
The main highlight is Fat Tuesday night on 21 February with 8 pubs playing host to 16 bands between the hours of 8pm and11pm followed by a great party!
The organisers encourage you to dress up, head out and see Hastings at its best.
The Seaview Project and St Michaels Hospice, Hastings have been chosen as this year's charities. A suggestion of £2 per person (voluntary donation) is given to the charity collectors at each event.
18 February The Cajun Kitchen from 1pm; The Stag, 14 All Saints Street
A buffet of tasty Creole food – with seafood, game, full flavoured “gumbo” stews, spicy surprises and some exquisite sweets - real Louisiana flavour. A great atmosphere with traditional Cajun Music provided by “Les Petit Chiens”

A night of the very best of the Big Easy’s alternative music scene. Free entry but collection on behalf of The Seaview Project.
Preservation Sunday – Old Town to theTown Centre
Recreating the spirit of a traditional New Orleans Jazz and Umbrella Parade. Some players from the Hastings Jazz scene are putting together their own “second line” band “The Filthy Half Dozen” to lead a procession from the Old Town to the special Town Centre’s America Ground for an afternoon of music and dancing.
The day events:
Jazz Breakfast from 10am at the Jenny Lind, High Street
Procession from 12.30pm led drummers and the “Filthy Half Dozen” second line band, from Old Town to The Print Works 14 Claremont.
Music and Dancing – from 1.30pm to 5.3pm at the Print Works including the Filthy Half Dozen, DJ and the Lindy Hopper dancers, food and drink.

Finish the day Back at the Jenny with a special evening performance.
Slim Monday; from 8pm; The Brass Monkey, Havelock Road, Hastings
Featuring the artist previously and still in fact, known as King Size Slim. A chilled night for a quite drink and a chat, listening to a musician at the top of his game.
This is the pre Fat Tuesday gathering of musicians and support crew – free entry (£2 voluntary donation).

Experience a great party atmosphere to see and listen to some of the best loved local acts and two world class recording artists giving their time and talent to raise awareness and money for a great local charities.

All venues are free but a suggested voluntary donation of £2 would go to the chosen charities
