About

Carnival of the Deep is a free, fun and participatory arts-based workshop for home schoolers, or those who have been home schooled due to the pandemic. Over three half-day workshops in August you will explore marine conservation and make your own puppet theatre inspired by the museum's marine biology collections.

Each of the workshops will be hosted by the museum team and iDOLRiCH TheatreRotto. They will work with you and your group (children must be accompanied by an adult) to explore the collections and build your own puppets to create a 'Carnival of the Deep' over the three weeks.

We will record the workshops to produce a video that we can use to show how the 'Carnival of the Deep' was made. This will be broadcast on our social media and hopefully in the museum too. This project is funded by a National Lottery Project Grant from Arts Council England.

Please visit the website for full details on how to book.
