About

Take a step back in time and discover the fascinating history of Britain’s first Norman castle – built by William the Conqueror in 1067. An iconic landmark of England’s tumultuous past, Hastings Castle represents  a seismic shift in the direction of England; historically, politically and culturally. It is a jewel in the crown of England’s historic past.

High above the town of Hastings, the castle boasts the most spectacular views in all of Sussex – and is the perfect spot for a family picnic. It also has an on-site cinema where you can enjoy the iconic ‘1066 Story’ a 20-minute film on the fascinating history of the castle and the battles that decided England’s fate.

Castle very interesting, but staff totally disinterested in interacting. Both ensconced in ticket office. No-one available to guide round, give any information. Read full review
