About

The Museum covers 125 million years of history with displays including dinosaur footprints, artefacts from a Roman Bathhouse, a battle-axe believed to be the only relic of the battle of 1066, the oldest effigy of Guy Fawkes, domestic items from the 19th century and militaria from World Wars 1 and 2.

    Regular buses stop on Battle High Street. Stagecoach buses 304 and 305 connect Hastings with Battle and Hawkhurst. Bus 95 connects Bexhill with Battle and Hastings. Visit www.stagecoachbus.com/ for further information.

    Battle Museum of Local History is a 17-minute walk from Battle Train Station. Trains run regularly from Hastings and London (Charing Cross, Waterloo East, London Bridge) via Tunbridge Wells.
