Christmas Shopping

High streets and shopping centres keep their doors open late during the festive season and the stunning decorations and entertainment make Christmas shopping a pleasure in 1066 Country.  You'll find the perfect gift for all the family in our big high street stores or in our smaller gift shops selling handmade, unusual gifts.  The best Christmas food and drink is available from shops and markets try organic meat, bread and cheese from 1066 Country producers.

Christmas in Battle

  • Saturday 28 November: Father Christmas comes to town for the Light On celebrations.  Parade at 2pm with the Kingfisher Band and Langton Loons.  Grotto and charity market in the Memorial Hall.  Lights are switched-on by Father Christmas at 5pm
  • 10 December: Gala Night - shop, bank and office staff in Battle will be in fancy dress and invite you to join the festivities from 6pm until 9pm.  Music from the Battle Town Band.

Christmas in Bexhill

  • 03 December: Switch on of Old Town lights at 6pm
  • 04 December: Late night shopping 'til 8pm
  • 11 and 12 December: Christmas weekend in Manor Gardens, Old Town.  Father Christmas arrives at 10.30am with reindeer.

Christmas in the Countryside

Heathfield

  • Saturday 28 November: Christmas Magic - Starts at 10am and continues until 4.30pm at the Fire Station where Santa Claus begins his walk around the town and will be in his grotto between 12noon and 1.30pm.
    The Union Church is open for coffee, tea and songs.  Kings Church opens from 12noon with lots of activities for the children including carol singing, followed by the switching of the Christmas lights at 4.30pm
  • Friday 04 December: Christmas Carols - light a candle service will be held by St Wilfrids outside Union Church at 6.30pm.  At 7.30pm there will be a Christmas Carol service organised by Heathfield Rotary Club.
