Battles Big Event

A Community Festival of Sport and Culture in 2012

The Olympics are coming to Britain, and Battle intends to celebrate that with a wealth of events during the course of the Olympics that will truly bring the community together, both in sportsmanship and friendship.

There is a whole lot of amazing events taking place in Battle this summer, from Runs to Fishing to a Scarecrow Festival - there is something for everyone so don’t miss out!  Starts from 29 June - 9 September..

Closing Weekend - including Battle Rocks, 7-9 September

Celebrating the end of Battle’s Big Event, Battle Rocks boasts a fantastic 9 bands from all different genres including Pop, Motown, Funk and Ska, not just Rock! The two evenings will be hosted on the Battle Recreation Ground on North Trade Road.

On Friday 7 September to start there will be Dukebox, a great local covers band.  Then we welcome the well loved 1066 Rockitmen who have headlined many prestigious local events such as Hastings Beer Festival.  Enjoy some sixties and seventies from Ska’d4Life before Sonic Oblivion blast with some heavy rock!

Onto Saturday 8 September, the stage commences with Titus, a very well known local folk harmony who sets the scene for Victoria Howarth’s Jazz Band.  Pete Prescott and Phil Hudson follow with swing.   After that comes Howlin Blues followed by Slam that will have some rock covers featuring Katie Lloyd.   Then a huge fireworks display overtakes the proceedings before you are immersed into the wonderful world of Blair MacKichan and his band Which Blair Project.
