For the second year - the Biggest & Best Sea Angling Festival in the South
The festival includes major angling competitions including Beach, Boat, Kayak, Specimen Hunt and a Bass competition. There will be free of charge cooking and fish preparation demonstrations run by Billingsgate Seafood Training School supported by Hastings Classroom on the Coast, watch top chefs at work preparing fresh seafood dishes on the Ashdown Hurrey and Spectrum stand. Coaching sessions with angling professionals will be available on the day, to assist newcomers to the sport with advice and demonstrations. Local fresh food and drink will be available thought both days along with other arts and crafts. There’s also plenty to keep the family occupied with a variety of games and activities.
Ever wanted to go marlin fishing from the Sussex coast? The Bexhill Sea Angling Festival makes this possible due to the extraordinary SIMFISH simulator, which allows you to strap yourself in an do battle with a tropical marine monster. Or how about firing tennis balls at targets using a fishing rod? It’s just one of the games provided by Moonfleet Educational Angling to show youngsters how to use fishing to keep active.
The England Junior Sea Angling Team will be providing clinics throughout the weekend. For anybody who has never picked up a rod before but would like to try, top coaches will be on hand to show you how to cast into the sea and maybe hook that catch of a lifetime. The coaching clinics are available to people of all ages. All of these activiites will be held on the Metropole Lawns, West Parade, next to the De La Warr Pavilion.
