Stone Cross Windmill is a Grade II* Listed Building which has been returned to working order and is producing stoneground flour for sale. The Mill belongs to the Stone Cross Mill Trust, who have carried out the restoration and continue to maintain this brick-built tower mill as a fine example of a windmill in its most developed form. It is open on Sundays from 14.00 - 17.00 during the summer season (normally April to end of September), with free admission (donations welcome): guides are always on hand to show visitors over the Mill. Visits by private groups are by arrangement. During National Mills Weekends in May and Heritage Open Weekends during September, the Mill is open on both days of the weekend - from 10am to 4pm. The Mill Store is open whenever the Mill is open and sells flour, souvenirs and refreshments.
There is now a Local Heritage Centre in the roundel with a display of photographs, detailing the refurbishment of the Mill, items connected with milling, the environment, alternative forms of power and the local area. There are souvenirs and flour for sale in the Mill Store and light refreshments.
