Road Directions
From M25 South/West of London - Take M25 until it meets A21 (south towards Hastings) and follow it unitl it meets the A268 just before Flimwell. Turn left on to A268 and follow it, signposted, all the way to Rye. As you descend into Rye and before you go over a railway bridge there is a very small turning to your right called Deadman's Lane - triangular pedestrian crossing sign on left, and "6' 6" sign on right - this is a shortcut avoiding the town one-way system.
At the end of Deadman's Lane, go straight on, continue to the mini-roundabout, turning left onto Tower Street. Go past the Lemon Grass restaurant and turn right at the top through the Landgate (big stone arch); onto High Street, which becomes The Mint when the road narrows. Just past Barclays Bank on the right, Easter Cottage is a large white house with curved wall on the left, on the corner of Mermaid Passage.
Pull into Mermaid Passage to unload into side door, then re-park in Cattle Market car park, on Cinque Ports Street (£1.50 per calendar day) - follow signs to town centre from The Mint
Public Transport Directions
Trains are frequent from Charing Cross/Waterloo Stations, or hi-speed from St Pancras International; change at Ashford International; then direct train to Rye takes approximately 20 mins.
From Rye Railway Station, walk straight ahead along Station Approach, go straight ahead on up the hill on Market Road and turn right at the top, on the High Street. Go past Barclays Bank on the right, and Easter Cottage is a large white house with curved wall on the left, on the corner of Mermaid Passage.
